Job Description

Position : Junior Research Associate/Research Associate in the area of Green Chemistry & Coatings
Experience : 1 - 7 Years
Education : MSc Chemistry (Organic, Physical)/ Polymer/ Material Science or MTech with related experience from a reputed Institute / University
Job Location : ITC Life Sciences & Technology Centre, Bangalore.

 

 

Responsibilities :

  1.   Conduct routine lab activities to identify and develop green routes to material synthesis.
  2.   Design and optimize reaction pathways and experimental protocols leading to value-added products.
  3.   Well-informed with newer developments in green chemistry and coatings especially, industry trends and innovative technologies.
  4.   Engage in product scale-up in lab; ready to travel to manufacturing sites to enable technology transfer.
  5.   Perform polymer/material analysis, interpret results & document the information in reports/presentation.
  6.  Raw material procurement and maintain lab inventory.
  7.  Maintain the inventory and remain 100% EHS compliant.
  8.  Passionate, problem-solver and motivated individual with minimal supervision.

 

 

Requirements :

  1. 1-7years of synthetic industrial experience in material synthesis (organic/inorganic /hybrids /polymerization).
  2. Perform technical trials, analysis, interpretation & documentation of data ensuring improved product quality and performance
  3.  Ability to read, identify through literature and design parameters for synthesis, i.e., factorial design, DOE.
  4.  Knowledge of biopolymers/biomaterials and chemistry of flexible packaging would be preferred.Knowledge : Nanotechnology/Nanomaterials/Polymer/Silicone/Click/Surfactant Chemistry, Reaction Kinetics, Formulations, Material Characterization, Analytical & Lab skills required, handling of various chemicals.
  5. Understanding of polymer/organic/physical chemistry, reaction mechanisms & heat of reactions.
  6.    Experience in emulsion polymerization, surfactant chemistry, silicone chemistry and formulation development.
  7.  Experience in process optimization, scale-up, and technology transfer is considered an advantage.
