With more than 75 years of outstanding patient care, top-notch training, and ground-breaking cancer research, Tata Memorial Centre is one of the oldest and largest cancer centres in the world. It has expanded in size and prominence throughout time, holding onto its leading position at the vanguard of regional, national, and international cancer control initiatives. Tata Memorial Centre continues to place a high priority on compassionate patient care, with eleven Disease Management Groups (or interdisciplinary teams) bridging departmental barriers and offering the best possible treatment for each patient.
By utilising the vast knowledge and skills of many specialists, this emphasis on teamwork offers patients evidence-based, yet individualised care that is suited not just to cancer but also to the patient's particular physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs. World experts in basic, translational, epidemiologic, and clinical cancer research work at the Tata Memorial Centre. Studies to better understand cancer biology, extensive community-based screening trials for common malignancies, cohort studies, neoadjuvant and adjuvant therapy, perioperative interventions, surgical trials, drug repurposing, and qualitative research to better understand the patient journey are all part of the research at TMC.
Our study focuses on outcomes that are important to patients, such as survival and quality of life, i.e., living longer or better. We are appreciative to the Government of India's Department of Atomic Energy for their steadfast support throughout the years, which has allowed us to adjust to the changing circumstances and modify our approach to meet the demands of the nation. In order to provide uniform standards of cancer care, improve human resource development, and conduct collaborative multidisciplinary cancer research both domestically and abroad, over 150 cancer centres, research institutions, patient groups, charitable organisations, and professional societies joined forces to create the National Cancer Grid, the largest cancer network in the world. We promise to provide the highest quality of patient care as we begin a significant growth plan that will quadruple our patient care capacities and increase our geographic presence in the nation.
