An international provider of laboratory and pharmaceutical equipment, Sartorius AG serves the Bioprocess Solutions and Lab Products & Services markets. 2015 saw Sartorius acquire Cellca, a company that develops cell lines and processes.A new facility is planned to be inhabited in the Eselsberg neighbourhood of Ulm by 2019. By 2017, the subsidiary Sartorius Stedim Cellca was in operation and working out of a rented building in Laupheim. B. Braun Melsungen AG was replaced by Sartorius as the owner of B. Braun Biotech International (BBI). BBI, the top producer of fermenters (bioreactors) and cell culture systems in the world at the time, was incorporated into the Sartorius group as a division of Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH as Sartorius Stedim Systems GmbH (formerly Sartorius BBI Systems GmbH).
