Cotton Corporation of India (CCI): A Cotton Farmer's Friend and a Reliable Cotton Supplier to the Textile Industry. CCI was established as a Public Sector Undertaking under the Companies Act 1956 on July 31, 1970, under the administrative control of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Initially, as the only public sector undertaking in the field of cotton marketing, CCI served as a canalising agency for cotton imports and raw cotton purchases in order to provide necessary price support to enterprising cultivators and to procure raw cotton for textile mills.
