Two college mates named Mike Cannon-Brookes and Scott Farquhar started Atlassian with just a credit card and an idea. Although they were unsure of the type of company Atlassian would become in 2002, they were certain of what it should not be: a place where employees were forced to conform rather than be true to who they are.
